Frozen berries and Hepatitis A
/More than 9 cases of Hepatitis A have been confirmed in 3 Australian states - Queensland, NSW and Victoria - believed to be linked to the consumption of Nanna's 1 kg frozen mixed berries.
Hepatitis A is a viral disease that affects the liver. Symptoms occur between 15 and 50 days after catching the virus and include nausea, abdominal pain, dark urine and yellow skin and eyes (jaundice). Symptoms may last for several weeks but full recovery usually occurs. There is no specific treatment for Hepatitis A.
If you suspect you may be unwell with Hepatitis A contact your doctor to arrange diagnostic testing.
